Identifikasi Potensi Komoditas Unggulan Sektor Pertanian Tanaman Pangan pada Kecamatan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This study, entitled identification of potential leading commodity crop farming sector in Deli Serdang district in North Sumatra Province. The aim in this study were (i) determine the base region commodity crops in Deli Serdang, (ii) determine differences in the level of competitiveness of commodity crops in Deli Serdang, (iii) determine specialty crops in the district of Deli Serdang, (iv) knowing localization (deployment) crops in Deli Serdang, (v) to determine the trend of food crops in Deli Serdang. The analytical method used is: (a) analysis of location quotient (LQ), (b) Shift Share analysis, (c) the analysis of the coefficient of specialization, (d) analysis of localization, (e) the analysis of the trend. The analysis of location quotient (LQ) shows that in Deli Serdang district as a base, namely: (i) In the commodity on the District Labuhan Deli with the LQ 1.50. (ii) the commodity cassava which has strongholds STM Hilir district with the LQ 3.58. (Iii) the sweet potatoes that are included in the base area Namorambe with the LQ of 5.06. (Iv) In commodities peanuts have strongholds district Namorambe with the LQ 5.88. (V) In the corn that have a base area district Pancur Batu with the LQ 2.66. Results of component analysis of market share growth in the region, sub-region which has a good competitiveness, namely: (i) the rice commodity there are seven districts namely Pancur Batu, Namorambe, Biru-biru, Tanjung Morawa, Patumbak, Haparan Perak, and Batang Kuis. (ii) on commodity cassava, there are four districts namely Pancur Batu, Namorambe, Birubiru and STM Hilir. (iii) the sweet potato commodities are five districts namely Pancur Batu, Biru-biru, Hamparan Perak, Percut Sei Tuan and Batang Kuis. (iv) in the commodities peanuts there are three districts namely Pancur Batu, STM Hilir, and Percut Sei Tuan. (v) the corn commodity no one district was able to have a good competitiveness. Characteristics deployment commodity crops in Deli Serdang regency does not lead to the principle of specialization and localization. Patterns of production on food crops in Deli Serdang district tends to spread in many regions or districts and no commodity specialization in each district. Results of factor analysis trend commodity crops such as rice, cassava, and maize has a high production level each year, but the commodity sweet potato and peanut production is likely to decline.
