Pengaruh Gaya Kepemimpinan Situasional dan Motivasi Terhadap Disiplin Kerja Pegawai di Lingkungan sekretariat Pemerintah Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

The effect of leadership style and motivating technique is the focus of study in this research. The problen selection was undertoken because of both a limitation of research result related to the leadership style and motivating technique, and a number of reasons as follows: firstly, the weaknesses of government apparaturs in discipline in Indonesia. Especially unlawful actions of apparaturs such us, corruption, collusion and nepotism among them: secondly, they are undisciplinary conducts of secretary apparaturs of Deli Serdang local government, thirdly it ts necessmy to know the effect of leadership style and motivating technique to the discipline degree of apparaturs of Deli Serdang local government, and fourthly it is important to the investigate the way of effective supervision for the apparaturs of Deli Serdang local government. In detail, the problem selection is formulated in hypothesis that: "There is an effect of leadership style of Division Head and how he/she to motivate, individually or in-group, to the discipline degree of secretary apparaturs Deli Serdang local government". To discuss the hypothesis, the study select some theoris of situasional leadership from Hersey et al, and reinforcement theory members chosen are 93 people from 13 division of secretary apparaturs of Deli Serdang local government using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted by some techniques of quistioner, interview, observation, and documentation. Then, data are analysed and interpretated by using the Path Analisys Technique and Spearmen Correlation Method.
