Abstract: | Banking problems in Indonesia are due to the depreciation of the rupiah, an increase in the interest rate of Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBIs), causing the increase in non-performing loans. weak internal bank conditions such as inadequate bank management, lending to groups or business groups alone and capital that can not cover the risks faced by the bank caused the bank's performance to decline. This study aims to determine the effect of each research variable, namely credit risk (NPL), operational cost of operating income (BOPO), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) to Profitability (ROA). The sample was taken by purposive sampling method using 35 banking companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange, data analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that credit risk variable (NPL) had a significant negative effect on profitability (ROA). Operasional Cost of Operational Income variable (BOPO) has a significant negative effect on profitability (ROA). Capital adequacy ratio (CAR) has a significant positive effect on profitability (ROA) |
