Abstract

Optimism is an attitude that sustains the individual in order not to fall into indifference, despair or depression when the individual is faced with difficulties. This study was formulated in . four points, namely the acceptance of parents of ABK, the factors of optimism, optimism toward independence ABK parents, and other forms of independence ABK. This study uses qualitative phenomenological approach, subject 2; parents ABK deaf and mentally disabled. This study uses participant observation and interviews with general guidelines. Research results show that the process of receiving both parents to different crews. While the factors driving optimism ABK parents alike. The optimism of both parents ABK also vary. Divided into six forms of independence; dressing, eating, hygiene, patience, ownership, and order.
