This research is a quantitative research that aims to test and obtain the empirical data about the relationship of students’ self control and their cheating behavior. In line with the theoretical foundation, the hypothesis was proposed that there is a negative relationship between self-control and cheating behavior, where the higher the student's self-control, the lower the cheat behavior. This research involved 187 students YP MTs Al-Azhar Medan as the subject of research. Sampling is done by Purposive Sampling technique. This research used likert scale instrument for self control scale and cheat behavior scale. The scale of self-control is based on aspects according to Averil, 1973 namely: behavior control, cognitive control, and decision control. The scale of cheating behavior is structured according to Klausmeier's 1985 form: using the answer notes during examinations or tests, modeling the answers during the exam, giving the completed answers to friends, and avoiding the exam rules. Based on the data analysis, there was a negative relationship between self-control and cheating behavior. This result was evidenced by the correlation coefficient, where rxy = - 0.222; P = 0.002 <0.05. The value of coefficient of determination (R square) research with a value of 0.049. It can be interpreted that self control variable influence cheating behavior as 4.9%. From the calculation of the hypothetical mean and the empirical mean obtained high self-control and low cheating behavior.en_US
