| Abstract: | Berdasarkan wawancara awal pada hari Sabtu, 13 Juni di Kantin Kampus Universitas Medan Area, peneliti menemukan banyak kelompok mahasiswa dan mahasiswi dewasa yang memainkan game bergenre action strategy ini. Di dalam kampus Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area juga terdapat banyak komunitas pengguna game Mobile Legends. Hampir semua kelompok dewasa khususnya mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area aktif dalam memainkan game ini. Rata-rata merupakan mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Universitas Medan Area, dimana mereka terkadang meluangkan waktunya untuk bermain bersama atau dalam istilah game yaitu "mabar" (main bareng).Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional,Metode penelitian kuantitatif dapat diartikan sebagai metode penelitian yang berlandaskan pada filsafat positivisme, digunakan untuk meneliti pada populasi atau sampel tertentu, pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen penelitian, analisis data bersifat kuantitatif/statistik, dengan tujuan untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah ditetapkan. Jumlah yang harus dipenuhi sebagai sampel Stambuk 2021 sebanyak 49 mahasiswa, sedangkan untuk sampel Stambuk 2022 sebanyak 50 mahasiswa.Jika nilai Corrected Item-Total Correlation yang diperoleh > 0.300 maka item tersebut dinyatakan valid. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas, distribusi bergerak dari 0,300 hingga 0,578 item kontrol diri.Jika nilai Corrected Item-Total Correlation yangdiperoleh > 0,307 maka item tersebut dinyatakan valid. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas, sebaran bergerak dari 0.307 sampai 0.589 aitem Kecanduan Game Online Mobile Legends. Hasil uji Pearson Correlation menunjukkan bahwa kontrol diri memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kecanduan game online, hal ini dapat ditunjukkan dengan data rxy = -0,648 dengan nilai signifikansi P(sg) < 0,010.Koefisien determinasi (r2 ) hubungan antara variabel bebas X dan variabel terikat Y sebesar r2 = 0,420. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara kontrol diri memberikan sumbangan terhadap kecanduan game online Mobile Legends sebesar 42%, P = 0,000. Based on initial interviews on Saturday, June 13, at the Cafeteria of the Medan Area University Campus, the researcher found many adult groups of students and female students who play this action strategy game. On campus, the Faculty of Psychology, Medan Area University also has many communities of Mobile Legends game users. Almost all adult groups, especially students of the Faculty of Psychology, Medan Area University, are active in playing this game. The average is a student and student of Medan Area University, where they sometimes take their time to play together or in gaming terms, namely "mabar" (play together). This research design uses a correlational quantitative approach.
Quantitative research methods can be interpreted as research methods based on the philosophy of positivism, used to research on certain populations or samples, data collection using research instruments, data analysis is quantitative / statistical, with the aim of testing predetermined hypotheses. The number that must be met as a sample of Stambuk 2021 is 49 students, while for the 2022 Stambuk sample there are 50 students.
If the Corrected Item-Total Correlation score obtained> 0.300 then the item is declared valid. Based on the results of the validity and reliability test, the distribution moves from 0.300 to 0.578 self-control items.
