Raw material inventory control is a crucial aspect to ensure smooth production processes, especially in the food industry with fluctuating demand. This study aims to analyze soybean inventory control at UMKM Tempe Sunar by comparing the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Period Order Quantity (POQ) methods, in order to determine the optimal order quantity, order frequency, inventory costs, and the most efficient method. The data used include raw material usage from January to December 2024, ordering costs, and holding costs. The results show that the EOQ method produces an optimal order quantity of 2,220 kg per order with a frequency of 16 times per year, a safety stock of 367.27 kg, and a reorder point of 465.27 kg. The total inventory cost (TIC) for the EOQ method is IDR 10,160,432 per year. Meanwhile, the POQ method results in an order quantity of 489.58 kg per order with a frequency of 72 times per year, a safety stock of 367.27 kg, and a TIC of IDR 116,283,528 per year. The comparison indicates that the EOQ method is more optimal for UMKM Tempe Sunar as it minimizes total inventory costs and reduces order frequency, thereby improving operational efficiency and ensuring continuous production.
