Hubungan Antara Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya terhadap Optimisme dalam Menyelesaikan Skripsi pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan sosial temansebaya dengan optimisme penyelesaian skripsi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 217 orang mahasiswa aktif Psikologi UMA angkatan 2019 dengan sampel sebanyak 141 orang mahasiswa. Metode pengambilan sampel yang adalah random sampling, yang menggunakan 2 skala yaitu skala dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan skala optimisme penyelesaian skripsi. Adapun hasil penelitan adalah hubungan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial temansebaya dengan optimisme menyelesaikan skripsi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien kooperasi dimana rxy sebesar 0,703 dengan kategori hubungan kuat. Untuk hasil koefisien determinan (𝑟2) hubungan antara dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan optimisme menyelesaikan skripsi yaitu 𝑟2 = 0,494 Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor dukungan sosial sebesar 49,4 % dalam mempengaruhioptimisme menyelesaikan skripsi dan sisanya 50,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer social support and optimism for thesis completion. The population in this study were 217 active UMA Psychology students in 2019 with a sample of 141 students. The sampling method is random sampling, which uses 2 scales, namely the peer social support scale and the thesis completion optimism scale. The research results are that there is a significant positive relationship between peer social support and optimism in completing the thesis. This is evidenced by the coefficient of cooperation where rxy is 0.703 with a strong relationship category. For the results of the coefficient of determination (𝑟2) the relationship between peer social support and optimism in completing the thesis is 𝑟2 = 0.494 This shows that the social support factor is 49.4% in influencing optimism in completing the thesis and the remaining 50.6% is influenced by other factors.
