This study aims to analyze the effect of NaCl electrolyte on a photovoltaic (PV)- based Pb-PbO2 electrode battery as a charging system. Pb-PbO2 batteries generally use H2SO4 as an electrolyte, but this study attempts to replace it with a more environmentally friendly and readily available NaCl solution. Experiments were conducted with various NaCl molarities to evaluate the battery's performance in storing and releasing electrical energy. The results show that NaCl electrolyte can be used as an alternative to H2SO4 with fairly good efficiency. The voltage and current generated by the battery with NaCl electrolyte are lower than those of the H2SO4 electrolyte, but this battery is still capable of supplying power to light loads such as LED lights. The charging process using solar panels works well, although energy storage efficiency still needs to be improved. Therefore, further optimization of electrolyte concentration and electrode design is needed to make NaCl-based batteries a more competitive and environmentally friendly alternative solution. |
