Sehingga diperlukan pengurangan jumlah armada sebanyak 24 unit. Public transportation plays a vital role in supporting urban mobility, particularly in the city of Medan. This study aims to evaluate the required fleet size for the KPUM M97 public transportation route between Perbaungan and Medan Denai using the load factor method. The focus of this study is on the imbalance between the number of vehicles in operation and passenger demand, which results in long wait times and a decline in service quality. This study employs a quantitative research method with an observational approach using load factor optimization; primary data was obtained through observations of passenger boarding and alighting numbers, as well as vehicle capacity. The analysis was conducted by calculating the actual load factor values and comparing them with public transportation service standards. The results indicate that the load factor of the KPUM M97 urban transport fleet falls below the ideal standard. Consequently, a reduction of 24 units in the fleet size is required.
