Laporan Kerja Praktek (Analisis Kinerja Mesin Boiler Sei Mangkel PTPN IV Menggunakan Metode Preventive Maintenance PM)

Abstract

Sumatera utara sebagai salah satu daerah penghasil kelapa sawit yang ada di Indonesia memiliki beberapa lokasi pabrik yang tersebar dan beberapa perusahaan yang melakukan proses pengolahan TBS (Tandan Buah Segar) menjadi CPO (Crude Palm Oil). Salah satu perusahaan pengolahan tersebut adalah PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) PKS Sei Mangkei. Sebagai salah satu perusahaan pengolah TBS menjadi CPO, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) PKS Sei Mangkei, juga memiliki perkebunan kelapa sawit sendiri sehingga proses pengolahan TBS dapat dilakukan dengan semaksimal mungkin. Lokasi kerja praktek yang menjadi pilihan adalah di PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Pesero) PKS Sei Mangkei yang memiliki kapasitas 75 ton/jam yang terbagi atas dua pengolahan yaitu kapasitas 30 ton TBS/jam dan 45 ton TBS/jam. Penulis memilih tempat kerja praktek tersebut karena penulis ingin mengetahui secara langsung bagaimana dilakukan proses pengolahan buah kelapa sawit dari tandan buah segar (TBS) menjadi Crude Palm Oil (CPO) dan inti biji sawit (Palm Kernel). North Sumatra is a major palm oil-producing region in Indonesia, hosting numerous processing plants and companies dedicated to converting Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) into Crude Palm Oil (CPO). One such facility is the Sei Mangkei Palm Oil Mill (PKS) operated by PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero). As a processor of FFB into CPO, the company also manages its own oil palm plantations, enabling optimal processing operations. The chosen site for the practical internship was the Sei Mangkei Palm Oil Mill (PKS) of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero), which has a total processing capacity of 75 tons per hour, divided into two lines: one with a capacity of 30 tons of FFB per hour and the other with 45 tons of FFB per hour. The author selected this facility to gain firsthand insight into the processing of oil palm fruit—transforming Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and palm kernels.
