Hubungan Dukungan Sosial dengan Harga Diri pada Mantan Pengguna Narkoba

Abstract

This study aims to see the relationship between social support and self-esteem in ex- drug users in Pemuda-Pemudi Mandiri Bersatu (PMB) Medan-Deli. The sample of research is member of PMB Medan-Deli which amounted to 32 people by using purposive sampling technique. The measurement scale used is the self-esteem scale and social support scale. The scale of self-esteem is based on self-esteem aspects proposed by Sarafino, the scale of social support is based on aspects of social support proposed by Coopersmith. Data is analyzed by using Product Moment test. The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between social support and self-esteem on ex- drug users in PMB Medan-Deli (rxy = 0.900; p = 0.000 <0.05). Social support is known to contribute to self-esteem of 81.1%. The social support received by the sample is known to be high (mean hypothetical 102.5 <empirical mean 122,97 and the difference exceeds SD 17,943). The sample self-esteem is high (mean hypothetical 100 <mean empiric 125.66 and the difference exceeds SD 15,800).
