Mandibular fracture is a break in the continuity of the mandibular bone, or in general it is a fracture of the mandible. The main etiologic factors of mandibular fracture vary by geographic location, but motor vehicle accidents are the most common cause. Mandibular defects caused by tumor or trauma have detrimental effects on the patient's appearance, speech, chewing, and social activities. Therefore, mandibular reconstruction should consider joint, occlusion, facial symmetry, donor area, vascular pedicle, soft tissue area and thickness. In maxillofacial surgery, 3D Printing is mainly used in dental implant surgery and mandibular reconstruction. Successful reconstruction requires restoring symmetry in appearance, adequate chewing space, and correct joint position as much as possible, signaling a great demand for surgery and control of bone position. This study serves to model, analyze the stress distribution of a fractured mandible replacement prototype using solidworks software, and print the prototype using 3D Printer technology to obtain the type of prototype that is most suitable for a broken human jaw replacement. |
