dc.descriptionPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Pengalaman Korban Bullying dengan Kemampuan Komunikasi dan Keterampilan Kepemimpinan Anggota Klub Toastmasters. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi adalah anggota dari 6 klub Toastmasters di Medan dan 1 klub di Binjai. Total sampel berjumlah 61 orang. Teknik korelasi sederhana digunakan untuk meneliti hubungan variabel bebas terhadap dua variabel terikat, secara sendiri-sendiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Ada hubungan negatif signifikan (r = -0,376) dan nilai (p=0,001<0,05) antara pengalaman korban bullying dengan kemampuan komunikasi. (2) Ada hubungan negatif signifikan (r= - 0,327) dan nilai (p=0,005<0,05) antara pengalaman korban bullying dengan keterampilan kepemimpinan. (3). Sumbangan efektif pengalaman korban bullying terhadap kemampuan komunikasi=14,1%. (4). Sumbangan efektif pengalaman korban bullying terhadap keterampilan kepemimpinan=10,7%. Penelitian ini menyarankan kepada anggota Toastmastmasters untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan keterampilan kepemimpinan dengan latihan dan mencapai tingkat prestasi tertinggi di klub meskipun pengaruh pengalaman korban bullying rendah. Untuk masyarakat umum bergabung dengan klub Toastmasters, dapat menjadi komunikator yang handal dan pemimpin yang transendental. Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan di tempat lain, menggunakan skala psikologi yang berbeda dengan yang berlaku di Toastmastersen_US
dc.description.abstractThis research is aimed to identify relationship between bullying victim experience and their communication and leadership skill as Toastmasters club members. It is carried out utilizing the quantitative approach. The population of whom the data of the research is taken is members of six Toastmasters clubs in Medan and one club in Binjai. The total number of sample is 61 respondents. This research used simple correlation technique to determine relationship of independent variabel to dependent variabel. The result of the research indicate: (1) Victim bullying experience has negative significant relationship with communication skill, (r=-0,376) and (p=0,001<0,05). (2) Victim bullying experience has negative significant relationship with leadership skill, (r=-0,327) and (p=0,005<0,05). (3) Effective contribution of bullying victim experience to communication skill is 14,1%. (4). Effecive contribution of bullying victim experience to leadership skill is 10,7%. This research suggests the Toastmasters members to improve their communication and leadership skills by consistent practises to enable them to achieve their highest achivement in their respective clubs despite the fact that the bullying experience shows insignificant impact. As far as the general public is concerned, it is highly recommended to enroll themselves as Toastmasters member, by doing so, they will be able to become a distinguished communicator and transcendental leader. Further research on the subject can be performed in other places whether Toastmasters club are located, employing different psychological scales applied in Toastmasters International worlwide.en_US
