Abstract: PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia merupakan salah satu perusahaan di Sumatera Utara yang bergerak di bidang pengolahan pakan temak dan pakan ikan (floating dan sinking). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mempelajari sistem pengadaan dan pengendalian bahan baku di PT. Mahar Feed Indonesia, (2) Mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persediaan di PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia, (3) menganalisis dan mengusulkan altematif metode yang dapat digunakan oleh PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia dalam perencanaan persediaan bahan baku. Analisis terhadap perencanaan persediaan bahan baku dilakukan dengan metode l\1RP (Afaterial Requirement Planning) dengan dua teknik ukuran Lot, yaitu teknik PPB (Part Period Balancing) dan teknik Algoritma WW (Wagner-Within). Hasil perbandingan metode pengendalian persediaan bahan baku antara metode perusahaan dan metode MRP atas biaya persediaan menunjukkan bahwa kedua teknik metode MRP menghasilkan penghematan biaya persediaan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat persediaan bahan baku dengan metode perusahaan belum optimal. Penghematan total biaya persediaan yang dihasilkan metode MRP teknik PPB sebesar Rp. 2.047.633.635,- atau sebesar 63,06% terhadap metode I perusabaan. Pada MRP teknik Algoritma WW penghematan yang dihasilkan adalah sebesar Rp. 2.187.758.875,- atau sebesar 67,38%. Metode MRP teknik Algoritma WW menghasilkan penghematan terbesar untuk semua bahan baku. Altematif metode perencanaan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku yang diusulkan adalah metode MRP teknik Algoritma WW karena metode ini menghasilkan biaya persediaan terendah atau penghematan terbesar, hal ini disebabkan karena teknik ini mencari biaya yang paling murah antara biaya simpan dan biaya pesan untuk menentukan periode dan jurnlah pesan setiap komponennya. Teknik ini hanya memesan bahan baku sesuai dengan kebutuhan tanpa persediaan pengaman sehingga meminimumkan jurnlah persediaan di gudang bahkan mengupayakan tidak ada persediaan di gudang. PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia is one of North Sumatra engaged in the processing of chicken feed and fish feed. The products produced fish feed (floating and sinking). The purpose of this research is (1) study the system of procurement and materials control in PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia, (2) identify the factors that affect the supply in PT. Mabar Feed Indonesia, (3) analyze and propose alternative methods that can be used by PT. Feed Mabar Indonesia in the planning of raw material inventory. Analysis of the raw material inventory planning is done by the method of MRP (Material Requirement Planning) with a lot size of two techniques, namely PPB (Part Period Balancing) technique and WW (Wagner-Within) algorithm technique. Results of the comparison method of inventory control of ravv materials between company methods and MRP methods on the inventory cost shmved that both 1v1RP techniques result in cost savings inventory. This suggests that the inventorv levels of raw materials to the method the company has not been optimal. T oral in •entory cost savings resulting MRP method PPB technique is Rp._ 04 7.633 .635,- or by 63 .06% of the company's methods. On MRP method. WW Algorithm techniques resulting savings is Rp. 2.187.758.875,- or by 67.38%. MRP methods with WW algorithm technique produce the greatest savings for all raw materials. Alternate method of raw material inventory planning control was proposed WW algorithm technique MRP method because this method produces the lowest inventory cost or greatest savings, it is because this technique looking for the cheapest cost between savings cost and ordering cost to determine the period and the number of order each components. This technique only order materials as needed without safety stock so as to minimize the amount of inventory in the warehouse even seek no inventory in the warehouse.
