Abstract: Perilaku pergerakan arus lalu lintas pada suatu ruas jalan dan kemampuan ruas jalan tersebut dalam menampung arus lalu lintas perlu mendapat perhatian khusus bagi perencana jalan , karena akan menyangkut kualitas dan kuantitas pelayanan dari system jaringan jalan yang lebih luas. Karakteristik arus lalu lintas puncak pada pagi hari dan sore hari, secara umum lebih tinggi dan terdapat perubahan komposisi lalu lintas ( dengan persentase kenderaan pribadi dan sepeda motor yang lebih tinggi, dan persentase truk berat yang lebih rendah dalam arus lalu lintas ). oleh karena itu dalam perencanaan, perancangan dan penetapan berbagai kebijaksanaan sistem transportasi, teori pergerakan arus lalu lintas sangat penting Traffic flow movement behavior on a road section and capabilities This road section in accommodating traffic flow needs attention especially for road planners, because it will involve quality and quantity services from the wider road network system.
