Rotan Jaya MSME is a rattan craft business in Medan Sunggal that faces obstacles such as limited market access, competition from imported products, a manual production process, and suboptimal use of digital technology. This study aims to evaluate internal conditions (strengths and weaknesses) and external conditions (opportunities and threats) through a SWOT analysis, while formulating relevant business development strategies. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results show that the strengths of Rotan Jaya MSME lie in product quality, excellent service, competitive prices, and consumer trust, while its weaknesses include limited labor, reliance on manual processes, and minimal use of technology and branding strategies. Available opportunities include the use of digital media, the availability of quality raw materials, trends in environmentally friendly products, and the potential for product diversification. Threats faced include intense competition, low consumer awareness of environmentally friendly products, aggressive competitor promotions, and rapid technological advances. The results of the matrix calculation show that Rotan Jaya MSME is in Quadrant I (progressive strategy), so the recommended strategy is the S-O strategy, namely utilizing strengths to seize opportunities through digital promotion, product diversification, and strengthening competitiveness based on service quality. |
