Abstract: The provision of parking places at the curb on a particular road location results in poor flow of traffic and use of the road becomes ineffective and this happens to the Rel Kereta Api Lama Street or Pegadaian Street Medan. The purpose of this study is to see what problems exist that are affected by the activities of on-street parking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect that on-street parking due to the capacity of roads and to determine the performance of roads due to parking on the road based on the indicators of level of service. Parking activities that use the road will reduce the width of the road. The width of the roads which are used by the parking activity would reduce the ability of the road to accommodate the flow of passing vehicles, or in other words, a decline in the capacity segments. Given these problems, it is necessary to investigate the effect of parking on the body of the Rel Kereta Api Lama Street or Pegadaian Street Medan on the capacity of roads, traffic characteristics and look for solutions that allow for on-street parking problems in the study site is on the Way. From the data analysis it was concluded that on-street parking results in a decrease in the capacity of roads that impact on the performance of road
